FlexCare Coverage for Jeep® Vehicles
Many Jeep® owners search for a "Jeep extended warranty." The factory-backed option is FlexCare, Stellantis' vehicle service contract program (formerly Mopar Vehicle Protection). FlexCare plans are vehicle service contracts, not warranties or insurance: they help pay for covered repairs after your factory warranty, under the terms, exclusions and deductible in your contract. Covered repairs can be handled at authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, FIAT and Alfa Romeo dealers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Why Jeep Owners Look at Extended Coverage
Jeep vehicles pack a lot of hardware into one package: four-wheel-drive systems, solid or independent axles, and increasingly complex electronics. On FlexCare's published coverage chart, these Jeep-relevant parts are among those listed:
• 4x4 and driveline (all three Extended Care tiers): transfer case and all internal parts, front and rear axle housings and internal parts, differential carrier assemblies, disconnect housing assembly, drive shafts, universal joints and yokes, and CV joints and boots.
• Engine and transmission (all three tiers): cylinder block and internal parts, cylinder heads, timing components, turbocharger housing and internal parts, automatic transmission case and internal parts, and torque converter.
• Electronics (Premium; some also on Plus): engine, transmission and body control modules (Premium and Plus), factory-installed radios and speakers (Premium and Plus), and the Uconnect® hands-free communication system, satellite radio, tire pressure monitoring, Hill Descent Control and ParkSense® (Premium).
• Trail-related body and suspension parts (Premium; some also on Plus): steering damper, spare tire hanger/carrier, convertible top frame, bows and rails (Premium); convertible top motor, rear trac bar and shock absorbers (Premium and Plus).
Your plan provision lists exactly what is and isn't covered. Maintenance and wear items, damage and pre-existing problems generally aren't.
Which FlexCare Plan Fits Your Jeep?
• Extended Care Premium (formerly Maximum Care): FlexCare's broadest mechanical plan, covering more than 5,000 components, including the electronics and convenience features listed above. Worth a look if your Jeep is loaded with technology or you plan to keep it a long time.
• Extended Care Plus (formerly Added Care / Added Care Plus): more than 800 major components, including many electrical parts, power features and suspension parts.
• Extended Care (formerly Powertrain Care Plus): engine, transmission, driveline (including the transfer case), steering and air conditioning.
• EV Extended Care: FlexCare's plans for battery-electric vehicles.
Every Extended Care plan also includes 24-hour towing and roadside assistance (up to $100 per occurrence), trip interruption benefits, and rental allowances, subject to contract limits.
Wrangler and Gladiator
Wrangler and Gladiator owners tend to care most about the 4x4 hardware, convertible tops and the electronics in the dash. The transfer case, axles and disconnect housing appear on all three Extended Care tiers. Convertible top hardware, Uconnect hands-free, Hill Descent Control and the steering damper appear only on Premium's chart. If you drive off-road, ask us how your contract treats off-road use before you buy.
Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe (Plug-in Hybrids)
The 4xe models are plug-in hybrids: they combine a gasoline engine with an electric motor and a high-voltage battery. Their hybrid and high-voltage parts also carry their own factory warranty coverage; check your warranty booklet for those terms. FlexCare's EV Extended Care plans are listed for battery-electric vehicles, so a plug-in hybrid may be quoted on a different plan. Ask us which FlexCare plan applies to your 4xe and which hybrid components it does and doesn't cover; we'll check by VIN before you buy.
Lift Kits, Big Tires and Other Modifications
Modifications can affect coverage. FlexCare's Premium chart lists Mopar® accessories installed at an authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, FIAT or Alfa Romeo facility, but aftermarket parts and the repairs they cause are treated according to your contract. If your Jeep is lifted or modified, or you plan to modify it, tell us when you request a quote and ask before you buy.
Jeep FlexCare Questions
Is FlexCare a Jeep extended warranty?
It's often called that, but FlexCare plans are vehicle service contracts. They're separate from, and in addition to, your factory limited warranty.
Can I buy FlexCare after my Jeep's factory warranty ends?
Often, yes. Pre-owned plans are available for vehicles up to 10 model years old and under 150,000 miles (under 125,000 for vehicles with a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty), and an inspection is required. New-vehicle plans can be bought within 3 years/36,000 miles of the warranty start date. Plan availability, terms and price depend on your VIN, mileage, in-service date and eligibility.
Where can my Jeep be repaired?
At any authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, FIAT or Alfa Romeo dealer in the U.S., Canada or Mexico. Other repair shops are possible with prior authorization.
Do I have to live near Springfield, TN?
No. You can request a quote from anywhere, and paperwork and payment can often be completed remotely. Ask us about your state when you request a quote.
