Diesel Maintenance Is a Separate Product
FlexCare's prepaid maintenance plans (MyFlexCare SERVICE) list diesel-specific services. The Premium and Plus diesel plans include engine- and frame-mounted fuel filters and diesel exhaust fluid, along with oil changes and inspections. These are maintenance plans, not repair coverage, and they're a different product from Extended Care. See Prepaid Maintenance or ask us to quote both together.
Towing, Hauling and Work Use
Most 2500s work for a living. Commercial use and upfits (service bodies, plows, lift gates) can affect eligibility and coverage, and FlexCare also offers separate commercial vehicle plans. Tell us how the truck is used and what's mounted on it so we can check the right plan. Wear items, including brakes and tires, aren't covered by Extended Care plans.
High Mileage? Check the Limits
Traditional pre-owned plans require the vehicle to be no more than 10 model years old with fewer than 150,000 miles (fewer than 125,000 if it has a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty), and an inspection is required. Because diesels pile on miles quickly, ask for a quote while you're still under the limit. Terms run up to 8 years/125,000 miles, depending on the vehicle and the plan.
Ram 2500 FlexCare Questions
Does FlexCare cover the Cummins engine?
FlexCare's chart lists the diesel engine block and internals, the fuel injection pump, injectors (excluding clogged injectors) and the turbocharger on all three tiers. Exclusions and your deductible still apply.
What if I break down far from home while towing?
Every Extended Care plan includes 24-hour towing and roadside assistance (up to $100 per occurrence) and trip interruption coverage (up to $1,000 when a covered failure happens more than 100 miles from home), subject to the contract.
Can I use a diesel specialist shop?
Yes, with prior authorization from FlexCare before repairs begin. Authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, FIAT and Alfa Romeo dealers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico can handle covered repairs.
