Dodge owners searching for a "Dodge extended warranty" are usually looking for coverage that lasts past the factory warranty. Stellantis' factory-backed option is FlexCare, a vehicle service contract program that was formerly called Mopar Vehicle Protection. A FlexCare plan is a vehicle service contract, not a warranty or insurance. It helps pay for covered repairs under the terms, exclusions and deductible in your contract, and covered repairs can be done at authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram, FIAT® and Alfa Romeo dealers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
The Dodge Lineup Asks Different Questions
Dodge owners don't all want the same thing from coverage. A family running a Durango on road trips, a commuter in a Hornet, and an enthusiast with a supercharged Charger or Challenger tend to ask different questions. We answer them by model below.
Charger and Challenger (Gas)
Performance owners usually ask about the parts that make the power. On FlexCare's published coverage chart, the supercharger, the turbocharger housing and internal parts, the cylinder block and internal parts and the automatic transmission and torque converter appear on all three Extended Care tiers. Premium adds parts such as the engine oil cooler and lines, engine mounts, the Electronic Stability Program and traction control system, and the manual-transmission case and internals.
Track days, racing and modifications: competition use and performance modifications can affect coverage. Tell us how you use the car before you buy, and ask how your contract treats it.
Charger Daytona (Battery-Electric)
The battery-electric Charger Daytona falls under FlexCare's EV Extended Care plans. All three EV tiers cover the traction motor, the EV transmission/reducer box/transfer, the drive axles, steering and air conditioning. EV Plus adds EV cooling, EV braking and EV electrical, and EV Premium adds safety systems and high-tech components.
Durango
Durango is a three-row family hauler, and it often tows. Its owners tend to care about the parts the family uses every day. Premium lists the rear A/C assembly, heater core, power liftgate motor and module, rear seat video systems, and the trailer sway damping system. Plus lists power seat and window motors, the keyless entry module and many electrical parts. The transfer case and axles on AWD models appear on all three tiers.
Hornet
Hornet comes as a gas model and as the R/T plug-in hybrid. On the gas model, the turbocharger, engine and transmission are listed on all three tiers. The R/T is a plug-in hybrid, and its hybrid and high-voltage parts also carry their own factory warranty coverage (check your warranty booklet). Ask us which FlexCare plan applies to a Hornet R/T and which hybrid components it does and doesn't cover. We'll check by VIN before you buy.
Which Tier Fits?
• Extended Care Premium (formerly Maximum Care): more than 5,000 components, including the stability, traction and convenience electronics.
• Extended Care Plus (formerly Added Care / Added Care Plus): more than 800 major components.
• Extended Care (formerly Powertrain Care Plus): engine (including the turbo and supercharger), transmission, driveline, steering and A/C.
All Extended Care plans include 24-hour towing and roadside assistance (up to $100 per occurrence), trip interruption (up to $1,000 when a covered failure happens more than 100 miles from home) and rental allowances, subject to contract limits. See every listed part on Compare Plans.
Dodge FlexCare Questions
Does FlexCare cover my supercharger?
The supercharger is listed on all three Extended Care tiers on FlexCare's chart. Exclusions apply, including those for competition use and modifications. Read the plan provision or ask us.
Can I buy coverage for a used Charger or Challenger?
Often, yes. Traditional pre-owned plans are available for vehicles no more than 10 model years old with fewer than 150,000 miles (fewer than 125,000 for vehicles with a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty), and they require an inspection. Plan availability, terms and price depend on your VIN, mileage, in-service date and eligibility.
When does coverage start on a new-vehicle plan?
It starts on the vehicle's original warranty start date at zero miles, not when the factory warranty ends.
Do I need to visit Springfield, TN?
No. You can request a quote from anywhere, and the paperwork and payment can often be completed remotely.
